D Cakes!

WOAAAA it’s been a long time! Since my last posts if you haven’t already seen, I have recently become engaged! So for those of you who have planned, are planning or know someone that is planning a wedding–you feel my pain! No excuses for my slacking…many apologies 🙂

If you saw my last post on facebook, I mentioned materials for D Cakes. For those of you who do not know, D Cakes to me, is kind of like my business but with desserts–if that makes sense? Cheryl and Natasha customize desserts specific to tastes–they pretty much make whatever you want! What makes them unique is that they make each batch from scratch and always use the freshest ingredients. What’s awesome? They even make cupcakes that feature alcohol! They were invited to go to a Beerfest coming in this month. So to get them prepped we made these postcards:

So in addition to the many items on their menu they even ask you have them create new flavors! So, if you are in the area, check them out at: McCoole’s Beerfest Quakertown, PA on September 17th from 12-4 (1st session) or 5-9 (2nd session)

OR you can always check them out on facebook: www.facebook.com/DCakesDoylestown

Wine–Thank you

As always, the more personal a gift or note is, the better in my opinion. A personal favorite, a custom thank you card, the MOH came to me asking to have a thank you card made that reflected/hinted on the Bride’s Bridal Shower Wine Theme.

If you didn’t see my last post, “Wine Themed Bridal Shower” take a look and you will notice some similarities. I applied the same background to the thank you card as the invitation. I too kept with the color scheme but took it one step further. In knowing the bride, I did a slight resemblance in this illustration and picked up the wine theme in having her holding a glass.

What do you think?

Wine Themed Bridal Shower

Bridal Showers and themes, LOVE!
A wine paired luncheon is a great idea in my opinion. Most of the time I would have no idea what type of wine to try, what goes best with what dish, not to mention most bridal shower crowds are made up of women–  this gives everyone something to learn & partake in.
So the MOH came to me with the idea and we tossed around a few concepts.
The inspiration behind the invite was not only the wine theme but also that the wedding will take place this Fall in the Adirondack Mountains.  In knowing the location, motif as well as color scheme for the wedding, I tried to incorporate touches of each. I tried to give a bit more of a rustic feel–wine barrels, browns, greens– rather than the typical wine and cheese.
We played around with a few ideas and this was the winner. I of course took out the personal information, but you should get the idea.
The background gives it a little bit of a texture and not to mention the MOH paired these invites with a corrugate color/feeling envelope! Love it!
To see the designs that didn’t make the cut, post on fb or email me. I would be happy to share!
