Royal blue is IN!

Another wedding set! This set was very easy to work on. The bride was great with communicating and gave great examples of what she was looking for. I showed her 3 options total. One that was exactly what she said, another with alternate treatments and then one that I was so excited about. When I gave her the concepts I was sure not to tell her which I preferred. Luckily, she liked it the best too!

Here is the invitation. We went with a 5×7 double-sided postcard. The front features the royal blue and coral colors (which she requested) as well as a damask pattern. I chose this pattern because I thought it gave a bit more to the set and also punched up the formality a bit too. She happened to like the wording that I had on my invitation so we mirrored that here.

I of course took out some of the personal information but you should get the sense of how it would look.

For the back, we mirrored the same design and used it as a reception invitation.

Not sure if I had mentioned this before, but I used royal blue as one of my wedding colors! So it was great that I had already tested out the printing/knew exactly what color to use to make her vision come to life.

Next will be her RSVP and other pieces!

RSVP that does it all

So remember how I said for the Vermont wedding post called “Wedding Weekend”  we needed to solve both the accommodations and the meal choices? Well, I made it work here on the RSVP card.

As far as the design, we picked up a portion of the invite image and tried to create a divide with the two sections: accommodations and meals.

The card is simple and self-explanatory and will help both the bride and groom coordinate housing and meals! The back of the postcard is where their address and postage will go.

A Wedding Weekend

April 17, 2012 - Leave a Response

Remember when I said that 2011 was the year of engagements? I wasn’t kidding. Engagements ultimately lead to weddings. Wahoo! So many of my friends and or family are getting married soon its hard to think of anything else!

This invite here is a very unique one. Going through similar motions simultaneously, this process was both helpful to this bride but also hard for me! Shying away from your typical fancy fonts and formality, this bride wanted everything to be simple, casual as well as be sure to bring in the essence of Vermont–her wedding location. Her idea was to incorporate the lake or outdoors of some sort but with more of a illustration feel as opposed to a photo. I showed her a few options and we made a few minor tweaks to this image in order to capture her wedding colors.

With the wedding being a destination wedding of sorts, she wanted to emphasize the entire weekend as opposed to their wedding. Biting my tongue, I obliged and gave her both what I suggested as well as what she wanted. Here is what we came up with: Image

So, with any destination wedding, of course accommodations are always a concern and a major item in planning. The unique thing about their wedding is that accommodations are taken care of, SO we had to make sure that that was explained somewhere on the invitation.

We chose to use the back to let guests know about this option as well as to give them their “call to action” on the RSVP card.

How did we solve the accommodations and meal choices on the RSVP? you will see soon!
